OBTAINING YOUR DIGITAL CERTIFICATE / NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR

We recommend that you print this page to assist you through the Digital Certificate process. If you need additional assistance, please contact your account representative.

I. Requesting a Digital Certificate

  1. Open Netscape Navigator and go to: http://www.rueschlink.com.
  2. Click on the Digital Certificate button located at the bottom of the page.
  3. The web address in your browser may have shifted from www.rueschlink.com to www.ruesch.com. Click on the Obtain Your Digital Certificate button.
  4. The web address in your browser may have shifted from www.rueschlink.com to https://ca.ruesch.com. At the Enter Network Password prompt enter the user name and password as listed below. Note that characters are case sensitive and differ from your RueschLINK user name and password and should be typed as they appear below.

    User name: ruesch
    Password: user2USE
  5. On the Customer Services page, click Request on the left side under Subscriber Certificate.
  6. Fill in all fields of the Certificate Application page.
  7. Select Public Key (##High Grade) under Public Key Information. Click Submit.
  8. You will be prompted to enter a master password. You may have created this password when downloading your Netscape browser. Otherwise, please fill in any values you wish into this field and click OK.



  9. You will receive a message that a Private Key is being generated.



  10. Select Yes.
  11. The final screen will provide you with a certificate reference number. Please make a note of this number. Your request will be sent to Ruesch for authentication and may take up to 24 hours for approval. Once approval is granted, you will receive an e-mail notifying you that your certificate has been approved. When you receive the email, please proceed to Step II, “Downloading your Digital Certificate”.

II. Downloading your Digital Certificate

  1. After receiving your approval email go to: http://www.rueschlink.com.
  2. Click on the Digital Certificate button located at the bottom of the page.
  3. The web address in your browser may have shifted from http://www.rueschlink.com to http://www.ruesch.com. Click on the Obtain Your Digital Certificate button.
  4. A prompt to Enter Network Password will appear. Enter the following user name and password. Note that characters are case sensitive and differ from your RueschLINK user name and password and should be typed as they appear below.

    User name: ruesch
    Password: user2USE
  5. On the Customer Services page,click Install CA on the left side under Subcsriber Certificate.




  6. The following message may appear:




  7. Select Trust this CA to Identify Web Sites and click OK.
  8. Click on Pickup located at the left side of the screen under Subscriber Certificate.
  9. Enter your certificate reference number on the right side, and click the Submit button only once. Wait for processing.
  10. A page will appear detailing your individual information provided for the digital certificate.
  11. Click on Accept Credentials
  12. The following message should appear: Your certificate has been successfully stored.

III. Renewing Your Digital Certificate

A digital certificate is valid for 12 months and will need to be renewed upon expiration. Before your certificate expires, you'll receive an e-mail alert from Ruesch International.

  1. To renew your certificate, go to: https://ca.ruesch.com. Enter the following user name and password. Note that characters are case sensitive and differ from your RueschLINK user name and password and should be typed as they appear below.

    User name: ruesch
    Password: user2USE
  2. Go to the left side of the screen under Subscriber Certificate and click on Renew. Verify the information and click Submit. You will be prompted to select Public Key (## High Grade) under Public Key Information. Click Submit.
  3. Make a note of the reference number you receive. Ruesch International will notify you of the approval by e-mail. Follow the steps outlined above in “Downloading Your Digital Certificate” and be sure to use the new reference number.
